[starttext]

Dance & vocal group, Tokyo Girls’ Style, has released the PV to their upcoming single ”Himawari to Hoshizuku” on their official YouTube. If you’re not familiar with the group, they are Avex’s new girl unit, and they have been dubbed by some as ”Sweets v.2″. The members are Ayano Konishi, Miyu Yamabe, Hitomi Arai, Yuri Nakae, and Mei Shyoji, all of whom are said to be aged around 12-years-old.

This will be the group’s fourth single this year since their debut in May. It will be released on 10/6 and will have five tracks, including one B-side, “Kitto Wasurenai“, which is an image song in the movie, “Kimi ga Odoru, Natsu”. Tracks three and four are instrumentals to the title track and B-side, respectively, while track five is titled, “TGS06 –NEW SONG Senkouongen-”. Whether that’s the actual name of the track, I’m not too sure.

The single will have three editions, with one being only obtainable by going to mu-mo’s shop event. The limited edition will include the PV of “Himawari to Hoshizuku”, a “making of” movie, one of six random jacket cards, and an invitation to the TGS Christmas Event. The normal version will include an eight page booklet and invitation to the TGS Christmas Event. The mu-mo shop edition will include a “Special movie” on the DVD (Title TBA) and one of six random jacket cards.

S/mileage’s newest PV preview released!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q1Kvzbcu3FUendofvid

[starttext]

Super cute girl group S/mileage released a preview of the PV for their 3rd single, “Onagi Jikyuu de Hataraku Tomodachi no Bijin Mama”. The insanely long title has caused international confusion, as translators are puzzled on how to decipher it correctly. The winning translation thus far is, “My friend’s beautiful mother who works for the same hourly wage.”

In any case, the PV stars former Morning Musume member Nozomi Tsuji as the ‘beautiful mother’ who works with the girls in a small restaurant. From the clip, viewers can look forward to a very energetic dance number sequence from the group, and even a hilariously sultry .Tsuji-mama’.

The PV is set to be released simultaneously with all four versions of the single – Regular, Limited A (+DVD), Limited B (+DVD), and Limited C (+DVD) – on September 29th.

Ishikawa Marie to release first major song

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6T5mqS_0D4endofvid

[starttext]

Rhythmzone singer, Ishikawa Marie, will finally be releasing a full song, “Suki,” as a theme for Life Net life insurance commercials.

The R&B singer has been on the Avex sublabel for a while, but has focused on producing tracks with other singers. She gained attention for her cover of “Come Again” on m-flo’s recent tribute album under the name “Marie.” Ishikawa also sang a song called “I promise you” for quadraphonic’s debut album under the English name Marie Ishikawa. She seems to have finally settled into a name and a style and has her new song “Suki” up for Chaku-Uta cell downloads.

Although there is currently no single release planned for the new song, hopefully the up-and-coming singer will do well enough with digital downloads to justify putting out a full single.

Avex has a teaser up for the song on their youtube channel and the song is definitely catchy. J-pop fans looking for someone new to listen to should definitely check it out.

On September 22nd, idol pop duo, Vanilla Beans, will release their first best album, “VaniBest“, as they have just finished the recording and artwork.

The best album will contain fun songs from the beginning of Rena and Rika’s career, such as “U ♡ Me” and “a little crying,” but there will be alternative recorded versions with newer member Risa on them, so even older fans have something new. They will also include covers on the album, notably Pizzcato Five classic “Tokyo wa Yoru no Shichiji“, and Jack 10’s ending theme “100bankai no SMK“.

When all the new songs and newly recorded versions are put together, there are a total of 11 new tracks on the best album. Plus, as a bonus, the group has included four versions of their “Hyakuninisshuu” radio CM.

Not surprisingly though, the aspect of the new release that is getting the most attention is the cover art. It shows the duo leaning in about to kiss each other, using the same style as they did for their May mini-album, “Def & Def.”

Do you think the marketing ploy will work once again, or is it just becoming repetitive now?

Vanilla Beans [VaniBest] Track List:

03. D&D
04. Tokyo wa Yoru no Shichiji [Original:Pizzicato Five]
